The Saguaro NTS (National Traffic System) Net meets every night on the Eastern Arizona Amateur Radio Society (EAARS) repeater system at 6:30 pm MST (0130 UTC). In the Tucson area, we typically use the Mt. Lemmon part of the system at 147.160 MHz. Check the EAARS website for other parts of the system throughout southern and eastern Arizona. Join us and learn to participate in traffic handling. Training tidbits are offered nightly and we are happy to help. Our purpose is to relay radiogram message traffic within the United States, and outside the United States wherever third party traffic is permitted. The Saguaro NTS Traffic Net meets to enable hams with any level of amateur radio license to participate. We welcome your participation!
Jerry Meyer, AF9SC is the current net manager. Past net managers include: Jim Balentine, KJ7BHO; Max Presnell, KI7TIG; Byron McCabe, AA7BM; Pink Foster, K7ILA; Bill, KC7ZZ (SK); and Greg, W9GRG (former KC5ZGG). Pink and Bill started the Saguaro NTS Net in June 2009 during Field Day. Many thanks to the Radio Society of Tucson (Randy, KF0X, in particular) for encouraging us to start the net on the K7RST repeater atop Mt. Lemmon.
We moved to the EAARS network in 2010 to reach a wider geographic area. The net moved to N7OEM on June 1, 2020, but is back on EAARS as of January 2022. Should there be a problem accessing the EAARS system, our alternate system is the Pima County OEM repeater at 146.88 MHz.
Please join us on the air!
